 February 24th, Rancho Santa Margarita Mayor
Jerry Holloway on behalf of the City issued a pro-
clamation proclaiming the week of March 8th-14th
as Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week throughout
the City. Accepting the proclamation on behalf of MS

 February 24th, RSM Mayor Jerry Holloway, on
behalf of the City Council proclaimed the week
of March 7th-13th as Girl Scout Week. Pictured

 Santa Margarita Catholic High School Squad Pep
Dir. Dana Maas was named California State Cheer
Coach of the Year by CheerPros and will carry
the title for 2010. Maas is a 1992 graduate of the
school was once a member of the SMCHS squad
herself. She was voted most spirited in the
Santa Margarita 1992 yearbook, Maas was highly
involved in not just cheer, but track, ASB and
drama. Now in her 17th season as a cheer coach
at SMCHS, Maas is still working to spread
school spirit. Dana Maas is pictured with

 Cadette Troop 1336 are firmly committed to
showing others that they care. The troop has
completed a wide range of community service
projects including: collecting clothing for
an orphanage in Mexico, assembling Easter
baskets for children of incarcerated parents,
and building a shade arbor for a local horse
rescue. The girls began the new year by help-
ing over fifty Meals-On-Wheels recipients feel
a little extra love on Valentine's Day. The
troop wrote cards and put together care pack -
ages to help brighten the day of some special

 February 15th, RSM City Manager Steven Hayman
and Human Resources/Risk Management Admin-
istrator Mark Taylor displaying the new fire alert
flag. The O.C. Fire Authority, in cooperation with
the O.C. Board of Supervisors and O.C. Parks, recent-
ly launched its new O.C. Fire Watch Program to alert
the public when there is an elevated fire danger.
Wildfires are more likely to occur during red flag
conditions, strong winds accompanied by low
humidity. The OCFA provided this flag and
will instruct the city as to when condition
rendered, to raise it at city hall. |
 April 3rd, SAMLARC is hosting their Annual Spring
Fling event (1- 4p.m.) at Solana Park, 21601 Via
Regressos in Rancho. SAMLARC residents, bring
the family out for a fun-filled afternoon and don't
forget your camera for pictures with Eggbert &
Erika the Bunny. There will be bounce houses,
petting zoo, face painters, pony rides, crafts and
carnival games. Bring your baskets, egg hunts
are scheduled staring at 1:00p.m. For more infor-

 February 25th, RSM Age Well Senior Services
(formerly South County Senior Services) hosted
a Twilight Dinner. Peter & Nancy Eberhardt, Mary
Ann & Carl Graham, Millie & Tony Meyer, Margie
Brown and Blanca Lara enjoyed dinner held at
the Bell Tower Regional Community Center. |
 February 25th, guests Clem Smith, Marilyn
Smith, Nancy Life, Mary Clifford, Virginia Owens
and Marjorie Gould enjoyed the evening enter-
tainment of the Joanie’s Ragtime Band featur-
ing banjos, piano and fiddles at the senior
Twilight Dinner gathering. |
 February 25th, the Age Well Senior Services
hosted an evening of dinner and entertainment
with sing-a-longs from the 40’s and 50’s, which was
enjoyed by guests Ruth Vert, Cora Naraso, Terri
Iway, Noella Goulet and Jerry Priscaro. |
 Twilight diners Don & Jeanne Jonas, Rima Bruce,
Maxine Neuhauser, Richard & Angie Garnett,
Janet Soft and Mary Paxon enjoyed the evening
menu of chicken cordon blue, caesar salad, wild
rice pilaf and topped off with strawberry cake. |
 February 25th, Age Well Senior Services hosted their Twilight Dinner at the Bell Tower Regional
Community Center. It is the prefect facility for such a gathering with Joanie’s Ragtime Band
set up and Clem Smith and Marilyn Smith had on their dancing shoes. |

OCSD Deputy John Barbour with the MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) Deuce Award. Deputy Barbour

Certificates of Recognition to two Robinson Elementary sixth graders, Katherine Goodman and Luke
Wattenberg. Both students have attained a high level of academic achievement in all areas, making
